The Black Swan was formed by ex-Nega member Jin in 2014. I love the bands sound and everything they keep putting out is amazing. The black swan is slowly gaining its rank up as one of my current Favorite J-Rock bands. They are very progressive sounding, similar to the last music 12012 put out before they went on Hiatus . The leads voice is very eerie and addicting to listen to. Check out the Song below to have an eargasm.

Black Gene For The Next Scene was formed in 2011 by ex-Xodiack front man ICE. They currently have 2 full albums. Black Gene is really well rounded, they are considered Electronic Metal, but they are much more than that. ICE has that typical deep Visual Kei-esque voice that I love and there songs are very catchy. They try to mix a whole lot of sounds into their music which works for the most part but sometimes doesn’t. I wish they used less electronics and just stayed with the more traditional rock style. Overall Black Gene is awesome and I definitely will look forward to anything they put out. Check out the song after the break to get a feel of what they are about. Continue reading »

My Bacteria Heat Island is a fairly new band. Formed by former VO of Chemical Pictures, Tenten. MBHI has a an awesome sound, a heavier alternative rock sound. They have quickly become my go to band when I dont know what to listen to. All their songs are fun, unique and memorable. Tenten has a great voice and its great to see a band that is very visual in their style have music that goes against the grain of main stream sounding Visual Bands.  Check out the song below to see what I mean.

New band with an awesome sound. Dadaroma is heavy but throws in a lot of variety in their songs. The vocalist Yoshiatsu has an awesome range and great voice. They have been around since 2014 and have one album called「dadaism♯1」, check out the song below after the break, I guarantee you will like it. reminds me a bit like 12012 and D.I.D Continue reading »

You may notice the Lead singers voice from the Tokyo Ghoul opening “Unravel”. Ling Tosite Sigure is nothing but awesome sauce. The trio formed in 2002 and has been making crazy progressive indie rock since then. TK’s voice is very unique and mesmerizing. Sort of reminds me of Brian Aubert of Silversun Pickups. Their music is a non-stop ride of awesome guitar rifts and fast high pitched vocals. Check out the song Monster off the album i’mperfect after a break. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Carpe Diem was formed back in 2011, and I have to say they are pretty awesome. They are not your typical J-Rock band that consists of chorus’s that sound the same and similar structures. Carpe Diem is not main stream sounding by any means. If anything I would say they are more indie, sometimes eerie with a touch of fun. Its hard to say what they are. Im not really the best at describing music, but Chro, the lead singer has a beautiful voice and their melodies are something to make you feel relaxed. Check out their song Watshi no Koe after the break. Its a really touching song. and gives you a good feel about the band. Continue reading »

If you want fun, exciting, catchy, and hard J-Rock, You can’t go wrong with MEJIBRAY. Relatively new MEJIBRAY was formed in March 2011 by the vocalist, Tsuzuku.  The band currently has 3 Albums and all of them have something awesome to offer. Tsuzukus vocals are addictive, I just wanna keep listening to him sing and scream.  The music itself is pretty chaotic with A lot going on, but somehow through all that, they are able to create a distinct and very catchy sound.  I highly recommend this band, they definitely have something going and should be watched as they take the Visual kei scene by storm.  Check out the song after the break to hear why I like them so much! J-Rock Tuesdays: Listen To: Jinkaku Radio

Sep 092014

This is one of my new Favorite bands to listen to. I recently discovered Jinkaku Radio, and oh boy am I happy I did. Jinkaku Radio are a self- Produced indie rock band. The band consists of 2 people. Yuuki on vocals, guitar, lyrics and composition, and Naoki on bass guitar, live backing vocals, production and arrangement. Their name translates to “Personality Radio”, The music Jinkaku radio produces is so good, Yuukis vocals are amazing and the melodies they create together are very catchy. They sort of remind me of a younger Radiohead, but Japanese and more melancholy pop rock esque(dont know if that makes any sense). but anyway check out their song Kuchinashi (くちなし)after the break. I guarantee you’ll love em. Continue reading »

J-Rock Tuesdays: Listen to: D.I.D (Until the day I Die)

I never thought I would find someone that could almost match Kyo’s (dir en grey) amazing vocal range and intense growls and demon-esque screams. But then I found Akane from D.I.D . If I had to describe this band in one sentence I would say “Younger generation Dir En Grey”, They have the intenseness of Dir En Grey but with more of a younger pop like feel…if that makes any sense. But I cant just compare them to Dir En Grey, They have a uniqueness that just keeps you listening. The band Debuted in 2012 and was founded by Akane(ex Para:noir) and  Shou(ex Para:noir). Of course like all bands I discover this band is on hiatus. Akane was emited to the hospital for a mental illness. They even had to cancel their NEW single which was suppose to come out back in June.  Check out their Site HERE and be sure to like their Facebook page. Check out this incredible song after the break from their last album “Paranoid Personality”. Continue reading »

JRock Tuesdays: Listen to: The Studs

Jul 082014

After Deadman broke up I was sad.But then I discovered The Studs!(even though they are disbanded now aswell) formed by Daisuke (formerly Kagerou) and aie (formerly of Deadman) The Studs are fantastic in many ways! Daisukes vocals are rich and raw sounding. Hew doesn’t sound like all those other Jrock singers, he actually has lots of emotion in his voice. The studs music is very organic sounding, just raw and real instruments. non of that new computer sounding bullshit. Plan and simple The Studs are just Rock and Roll. Check out one of their songs after the break! Continue reading »
