Check out these awesome Screenshots from the new Appleseed Film that will becoming to Blu-ray and DVD on July 22 in North America after a digital release on July 15. The film is a reboot! showing the early days of Deunan and Briareos in search of the legendary city of Olympus. Shinji Aramaki is returning to direct this new film after directing the two previous CG Appleseed films. The film looks real cool, Kinda has a Metal Gear feel to it, so check out the screenshots and trailer after the break. Continue reading »

I don’t like anything about this trailer, I wouldn’t be hating on this so much if it was a TV movie, but I just wish they could have put more production value into this. Fuka Koshiba plays the role of Kiki. Also staring Ryohei Hirota as Tombo. Probably the only reason I would see this movie is because Tadanobu Asano (my all time favorite Japanese actor) is playing a small role as veterinarian Dr. Ishi. The movie is slated for release in Japan on March 1st. Check out the trailer after the break. Continue reading »

Dec 132013

Missing the Iconic headband, terrible special effects, this trailer for the live action Kiki’s Delivery Service looks bad and cheap. It might be just the trailer was cut very poorly but from the looks of it, this movie doesn’t seem to be a good adaptation. Every time I watched her fly on the broom stick I cringed from how lame it looked. Its sad to, because I loved the Anime I hope they don’t turn this classic into another failed adaptation. Set to be released in Japan on March 1st 2014. Check Out the trailer below after the break, and let us know what you think.  Continue reading »

Gatchaman Live-Action Movie

Did you watch Gatchaman growing up? Is it one of your favorite classic animes? If you have never seen or heard of this, WATCH IT!!! Its great. It came out in Japan in the early 70s and ran for 105 episodes, had an animated film and two sequel series in the late 70s.  Fun fact, since this came out at the start of anime popularity in the US, the title was changed (called Battle of the Planets), scenes were cut and replaced with new US animated segments, and the dialog was changed. But the originals were released in 2005 uncut and re-translated (this is “closer” to the original). Thank Goodness!! Now they are producing a Live action movie set to come out in Japan this year. Check out a preview and some details after the break.

Doesn’t that sound like all the Japanese monster movies you have seen, or the most famous giant monster, Godzilla? This is actually an American movie. I know what your thinking, Godzilla was done by America before and brought great shame to the Godzilla franchise, not to mention the pain inflicted on anyone who spent money to see it. This one is a bit different, the monsters look great and the robots are ok, but it is also directed by Guillermo del Toro. He drew inspiration from a painting called The Colossus. The monsters are known as Kaiju and rise out of the Ocean, sound familiar? The imagery for this movie looks amazing. I just hope the plot holds up to the brilliant look of the visuals. Check out the Trailer below and hopefully on July 12th, America will have its first successful and popular Giant Robot fighting Monsters movie that Japan perfected so many years ago.
